CLIENT CHALLENGES

  • The client, a global asset management firm, found it challenging to identify and capitalise on investment opportunities in emerging technologies. It sought to anticipate IT spending behaviour of enterprise customers and emerging technologies and disruptive trends that could impact investment opportunities and priorities across sectors.

    The methodology included the following: Initial desk research
    • We conducted extensive research to understand current IT expenditure and trends in emerging technologies. Based on our initial findings, we narrowed our research to a representative sample of key decision makers and influencers across sectors and by revenue in the US and Canada.
    Data collection
    • We designed a 15-minute online survey to gain insights on enterprise customer adoption and purchasing behaviour relating to changes in external IT spending, expectations for spending, spending on new projects and the impact of emerging technologies on priorities in IT investment.
    • 300 respondents were invited to participate in the survey via email, telephone and online survey platforms, ensuring anonymity so the information would be unbiased.
    Data analysis and reporting
    • After collecting the data, we conducted a thorough analysis to derive meaningful insights, segmenting the data based on industry verticals, size (based on revenue) and technology segments to obtain a granular analysis of the findings.
    • We used a number of statistical and regression analysis processes to identify patterns and correlations in the data.
    • We submitted a report to the client highlighting key actionable insights and our strategic recommendations.
