Acuity Knowledge Partners Sri Lanka Team Members Awarded with Fulbright Scholarships

Colombo, 16^th June 2025: Acuity Knowledge Partners Sri Lanka announced that two of the four prestigious Fulbright scholarships awarded this year in Sri Lanka, have been granted to its own team members, Devminda Abeynayake and Damith Priyadarshana. This accomplishment highlights not only individual excellence but also the supportive and dynamic environment cultivated within the organization.

Spekaing on this, Jehan Jeyaretam, Country Head for Acuity Knowledge Partners' Sri Lanka said “Our strength lies in global exposure and talent mobility. As Acuity expands it sees potential for new business opportunities and increased talent mobility, creating pathways for professionals both locally and internationally.

"The Acuity Training Academy (ATA)” serves as the company’s early careers program and plays a vital role in strengthening its talent pipeline, especially in Sri Lanka. Through strong collaborations with universities and educational institutions, the company has been able to build a solid pool of emerging talent and create meaningful internal mobility opportunities. Each year, approximately 90% of staff in Colombo receive training across both technical and soft skills. The ATA program typically includes around 60 new graduates annually, individuals with 0-1 years of work experience, making it a key foundation for the company’s ongoing growth and a major strategic focus.

Devminda Abeynayake, Senior Associate – Data Technology Solutions at Acuity, is one of the proud recipients. He credits the scholarship and his placement not only to academic merit but also to a rich array of extracurricular contributions. “Many of the activities I’ve undertaken, lecturing, organizing seminars, and co-founding PyData Sri Lanka, are deeply tied to the opportunities Acuity has provided me over the years, and I’m truly grateful for that support,” he said.

Damith Priyadarshana, the other recipient of the Fulbright scholarship from Acuity, stated, “I am honored to be one of the two Fulbright scholars from Acuity, awarded by the U.S. State Department and the Sri Lankan Fulbright Commission to pursue my master's at Rice University. The support and encouragement from my manager and team, along with Acuity's diverse culture, have been instrumental in achieving this recognition.”
